“Lightheartedness,” from the “Fish in Space” collection, is an extraordinarily colourful and symbolic work.
It shows a young woman in a pool, surrounded by quiet and calm.
The huge moon behind her and the shooting star above create an atmosphere of mystery and of things beyond the ordinary. Her pose — head thrown back, at rest — tells the viewer she is completely relaxed and at peace inside.
She seems to fly in that pool, as though floating in space, and that stands for a state of lightness in mind and soul.
The whole “Fish in Space” series explores the state in which space opens up before us and lightness is felt within.
It invites us to step away from everyday cares and worries and sink into a world of dreaming and inner quiet, where the borders of reality blur and we become part of the boundless expanse of space.
