Ksenia Eliseeva — an artist from St Petersburg
I am a contemporary Russian artist. I live and work in St Petersburg.
I make complex works in a technique of my own: texture pastes and epoxy resin. Few people work this way — it is slow, and the relief has to carry the meaning rather than decorate.
The thread running through everything I make is the inner psychological state of a person coming to know themselves.
A many-sided texture holding scenes of arrested reality — the way awareness settles inside a person.
I work in different techniques, with different materials and on very different surfaces. I like what is new and what is layered, and I like working to commission.
Works have gone to private collections in Prague, Cyprus, Sri Lanka, Rome, Georgia, Tatarstan, Germany, Switzerland and Turkey.

- Who is Ksenia Eliseeva
- An artist from St Petersburg. I paint in relief: texture pastes, epoxy resin, gloss and gold in places. I like what is new and what is layered. I have been exhibiting since 2016 in St Petersburg and Moscow, and works have gone to private collections in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Georgia, Cyprus and Sri Lanka.
- What do the paintings cost
- From 15,000 to 2,500,000 ₽. The price sits beside the size and technique of every work. Some works carry no price — those have gone to collections or are being painted to commission; ask me about them.
- What technique are the works painted in
- Mixed media, layer over layer, with relief. Texture pastes, oil, resin, gold; in places I take the surface to a gloss, in places I leave it rough. A photograph only approximates this, which is why every painting is also shot close up, for the texture.
- Can I commission a work that is not in the catalogue
- Yes, I like working to commission. To a size, to a colour, to a particular wall. It does not stop at canvas: there has been the wall of a building, glass, furniture, a car.
- Do you ship abroad
- Yes, and it does work. I prepare the export papers myself (it takes between two and ten days). The recipient pays for shipping.
- Where can I see the works in person
- At the studio in St Petersburg — just write ahead. In person the works are quite different: relief does not read in a photograph, and you want to touch it. Some of the paintings also stand in the WOODDI designer furniture showroom.
