A painting in a director's office works every day: visitors look at it, and so does the person whose office it is. A painting on an office wall is the first thing a client sees at reception. So it is chosen by the place first, and only then by the subject.
Placed at home or in the office, a painting keeps coming into view. It brings attention back to the meanings that were put into it at the moment it was made.
Behind the desk or opposite it. Behind the director, the painting is seen by everyone who comes to a meeting: it speaks about the owner of the office before he or she does. Opposite the desk, it is seen by the owner every day. The first place needs a strong, composed work; the second, a calm one: sea, mountains, sky.
Size. Above a desk or a sofa a painting looks whole when it is about two thirds of their width. For a 160 cm desk that is about a metre.

Offices, studios, beauty salons, cafés — first impressions matter everywhere.
For a lobby or reception with a high wall. «Torsion Geometry of the Present», canvas 3 × 2.4 m, 2,500,000 ₽: a blue field and gold-red lines, like the trails of planes in the sky.
Texture opens up in side light: the relief casts shadows and changes through the day. If there is a track light above the painting, aim it from the side, not head-on.
