What do you give for a million roubles to someone who can buy themselves anything? Something nobody else has. Gifts worth millions are usually sought among watches and cars, and those are made in series. A painting exists in a single copy.
Such objects do not go out of date; they age beautifully. Like good architecture. Like things that are passed on.
Six works are priced at a million or more right now, all from one and a half to three metres on the longer side. A painting like that takes up a whole wall.
“Red Peonies” from the “Meanings” collection, canvas 200 × 150 cm, 1,000,000 ₽: large peonies flecked with gold. “The Beginning of the Path”, 300 × 130 cm, 1,200,000 ₽: snow-capped mountains and a bright sky, a long format for a big wall. “Sea for Two”, 220 × 150 cm, 1,300,000 ₽.
“Gaming”, 200 × 150 cm, 1,400,000 ₽: the night sky, the constellation of Aquarius and a girl with a ball. “Life is a Luxury”, 150 × 150 cm, 1,500,000 ₽. The largest of the six is “Torsion Geometry of the Present”, canvas 3 × 2.4 m, 2,500,000 ₽.
Come to the studio in St Petersburg to see the work and touch the texture, just write ahead. If you cannot come, I will film the painting for you: whole, close up and in different light.
A three-metre canvas travels the same way as a small one, in three layers. I just use thicker foam board: 30–50 millimetres instead of 10–20. Shipping is quoted for each work separately, before payment.
The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity: title, size, year and signature.
None of them suits the wall? I like working to commission: to a size, to a colour, to a wall. It does not stop at canvas; there was a three-storey façade, 1,500 square metres by airbrush. The timing of a commission is agreed separately.
New Year orders are taken until 27 December. After that the painting travels with a transport company whose schedule the studio does not control. Anything ordered after the 27th ships after the January holidays.
