Sometimes a painting finds its home not in a flat or a gallery but in a space where emotions, conversations and meetings live every day. That is what happened with one of my works, which now hangs in the interior of the restaurant “Horizons” on the Fontanka.

For me this project was not about decoration. It was about resonance.
The first time I walked into the room where the painting was to hang, I heard that “wave”. Not only visually but literally: the deep shades of wood, the soft diffused light, the muted conversations, the smells from the kitchen — all of it seemed to be asking for the sea. A real one, dense and flowing. That is how the idea of hanging a work with a sea coast was born.
It is not an illustration, not a landscape, but rather an emotional image. The painting does not distract; it continues. It is like a soundtrack to the space: it adds depth, creates an accent, but stays discreet.
Interestingly, another of my works hung there before it, a large grey seascape on canvas. And the interior played differently. That confirmed what I believe: art really can change an atmosphere. Sometimes almost imperceptibly.
I am grateful to the restaurant “Horizons” for trusting the MAKE AIR studio and for their fine sense of visual taste. Working with spaces where every detail is thought through and respected is a real pleasure for an artist.
