A new collection of my works, which I have called “Superstitious Merchandise.”

Dollars and gold, as you can see — but why does this souvenir merchandise have magical properties and superstitious qualities?
Let us open the subject the way only magicians can.
Superstitions are an old way of thinking, from a time when people looked for links between events and the signs around them. Believe in them or not, a superstition is an attempt to tame the unknown, to give yourself hope and to feel some control over what happens in life.

As for money, it has become an object of belief and magical awe all of its own. Why? Simple: money stands for security, freedom and possibilities that many find almost out of reach. People believe that if they can open the secret doors to abundance, everything in life will change.
Most money superstitions are rituals and signs meant to “lure in” wealth. Putting a banknote under the tablecloth, never handing money across a threshold, “feeding” your wallet a coin or keeping a clover in it. This is not magic in the literal sense — it is the wish to feel that we draw luck towards us when we take charge of our own state of mind. Our thoughts and beliefs shape how we act, and so they shape our results.
So superstitions about money are about believing in your own powers and your ability to attract abundance. Just remember: real magic always starts with your actions and your thoughts, and rites and rituals only strengthen your confidence.
