A circle 150 cm across. “Almighty Vibration” is an art object rather than a picture: the edge works as much as the face, so the wall around it has to stay empty.

I cut into a layer that had already been built up, and the cuts open what was lying under it.

Why a circle? Everything fits inside one: a planet, a cell, a cycle, a pupil. A rectangle has a top and a bottom. A circle has neither.

Vibration here is a state, not a drawing. Colour, rhythm and the thickness of the layer set up an oscillation you read with something other than your eyes, and I still have no name for it.

People go quiet in front of it.

A metre and a half across is a lot. In a small room the object presses. Give it three metres of standing-back: a hall, a wide living room, a studio.

We vibrate as well. The same impulse that gathers planets sits inside every one of us.
