And We Will Fly 2.0

“And We Will Fly 2.0”: the plane is still on the ground, and the ground no longer holds it. That second before lift-off, when the decision is made and the wheels are still running over concrete.

“And We Will Fly 2.0”, 100 × 90 cm, oil on canvas.

Violet sky with orange in it. Night has not left, morning has not arrived. A white sun sits on the horizon. The runway goes into the depth of the picture, lights burning down both sides and meeting past the edge.

There is no flight here. There is clearance to take off.

The 2.0 is a second version of a person. The one after the move, after the divorce, after changing your work, after a long stretch of I cannot live like this. That version went ahead anyway, without the naivety this time.

You do not stop dreaming because of it. You simply know how now.

Buyers take this one for a study or a hallway, to have it in front of them on the way out.
