Trusting the Flow

An abstraction with no borders. The movement runs upward, then downward, and working out which way is up is impossible.

There is not one hard line in it. Only soft crossings and shifts, nothing for the eye to grab.

Texture is the language of sensation here. Every stroke of the palette knife stayed on the surface as it fell; I smoothed nothing back down.

The work is about letting go of control. Happiness is in being able to swim; holding on to every moment is beside the point.

You can hang it more than one way. I turned the panel around myself while painting, and both positions work.

It has no edges inside and none at the border either: the texture goes right to the side of the panel and over it.

Stopping the fight is harder than it sounds.

It works over a sofa or in a hallway, on a wall with side light.
