On the path of light

Two riders are moving away from you along the shoreline. The horses are pale. No faces, no conversation, no drama.

From the doorway it is nearly minimal: a strip of shore, two silhouettes, open sky. Detail starts later, once your eye settles and finds the relief up in the sky.

The sky took almost the whole surface. The shore kept a narrow band along the bottom.

Gold went in as small inclusions, not much of it. It catches light and shifts with your angle. Step sideways and the picture has changed.

The work is quiet and does not drag the wall towards itself. It sits well where the walls are light and there is linen, stone or wood about, and it argues with no furniture: all its colour rests on white sky and gold. Living room, bedroom, study.

Where are those two going? They have chosen a direction. The route I do not know either.
