The art of enjoying flight

I chose the round on purpose. A rectangle has a top and a bottom; a circle has neither. The aeroplane in it is not flying anywhere. It simply hangs.

The surface is uneven: craters with hollows and swellings, stars laid over the texture, and under a side light each one throws its own spark.

Eighty centimetres across gets chosen when the wall is already taken. A round goes where a rectangle would not: over a bed, between two windows, above a chest of drawers, into an alcove.

Round art for interiors has another advantage — it does not argue with door frames and window frames.

In a bedroom I hung it above the headboard, and that is the best place it has ever had.
