The Merging of Breaths

I made the horizon a road instead of a line. Waves reach for the sky, clouds come down to the sea, and no border stays between them.

Their arms are out so wide that both look ready to lift off. The world ahead is broad and the body asks to open.

They hold on tightly. It reads as an agreement: the two of us are here, and we are not afraid.

Adults are mostly no good at this. Walking straight towards the light while trusting whoever is next to you gets unlearned by about thirty.

The transitions stayed soft, with no sharp edge anywhere. The scene reads as safe before you have had time to examine it.

They breathe at one rate. Hence the title.

It fits above a child's bed, or in a corridor.
