A shore on an overcast day, water to the horizon, and people walking along the waterline. There are five of them, small, and on the wet sand each one has a reflection.

I held the range grey and ochre, without a single bright patch. The sky is heavy, the water lighter than the sky, the sand warm.

The texture is coarse in the sand and almost smooth in the sky. Run a hand down it. You will feel where the air ends.

The people are walking in different directions. Nobody is next to anybody. The world of the title is lost along with them: there is a shore, and there is no time on it.

The work is quiet and does not ask for attention every day. Art for interiors like this lives well in a living room, a bedroom, a study, where it gets looked at in passing.

It goes with beige and dusty pink walls without any matching, and with white ones too.
