Bomb Lava of Your Inner Strength

A black volcanic crust with a red river running across it on the diagonal. The lava is glossy and alive, and where it narrows, bubbles swell on the surface.

The texture here is real, set hard as stone: ridges, cracks, scree. I built it in layers and let each one dry, or the crust sinks and the drawing drifts.

The red takes up a tenth of the surface at most. That is enough. Against black it carries from any distance and is visible from the door.

The meaning is in the title, and it is literal. The strength is under the crust, invisible from outside, and it comes out in a narrow band, where the crust has split.

Its place is a study above the desk, a home gym, a teenager's room.

The size is compact and the wall can be small. The frame is black, and on pale plaster the work pulls together into a graphic rectangle.
