The Energy of Magic

The kite hangs over the waves. The adult helps hold the strings and does not take them over.

The sea is calm and the waves reach the shore gently. The palette is soft; sky and water cross into each other almost without a border.

I held the distance to the figures on purpose. From far off you see the connection between two people instead of their faces, and that is more reliable than any expression.

The work is about contact with your own dreams. Adults manage it worse than children and need it just as much.

The scene came out idyllic and I meant it to. Not every work has to be difficult; sometimes a sea, a child and a good day are enough.

It holds a nursery wall, or a hallway you walk through every morning.
