Gold on the Outside

Gold leaf comes in thin sheets, laid on top, and it never lies flat. That gives the torn shine: a solid gold field never happens.

The notes are glued into the layer. They are real, not printed, and that matters.

The title is literal. The gold is on the outside, and the question is what is inside.

Omens about money outlive any economy. Money is never handed over a threshold, never given from an empty hand, never counted out loud at night.

The magic is not in the object. A ritual tunes the person, the tuning changes what they do, and what they do changes the outcome.

Superstition is an old attempt to get a grip on the unknown.

The black frame is there for contrast. On black, gold leaf reads as more expensive than it is, and that is part of the statement.
