Along the line where water meets light there is a gold band. That is the gate: narrow, horizontal, the full width of the canvas.
The two are archetypes. The adult is the past and maturity, the child is the future and clarity. They sit together and look one way.
The waves part in front of them like time.
Gold is the energy of spirit for me, water is emotion, sky is consciousness. A simple layout, and I left it simple.
The moment has a name: initiation. The old has been said goodbye to, the new has not been entered.
The landscape is symbolic. There is no particular place, and looking for one is pointless.
It works as a key. Everyone remembers their own crossing point, and those differ.
