“King Leopard ART” is a leopard in a crown, filling a canvas a metre eighty tall. The face is painted exactly, down to the whiskers and the pupil; everything around it is blown apart into colour.

The canvas is 180 × 95 cm, mixed relief technique, gloss in places.

I built the ground out of pink, acid green, violet and gold, in layers and runs. The paint went top to bottom; some of it I took back to the underlayer with a palette knife, some I left as it fell.

The crown is pink, drawn roughly, in three lines. It is a joke. It suits the animal.

The relief is coarse, a finger thick in places, and in the light the gloss runs highlights along it.

This is the loudest thing in the catalogue. Art for a living room for someone who is not afraid of colour: against a green sofa, against dark wood, against grey plaster.

A metre eighty tall, so the wall needs to be clear from floor to ceiling. In a small room the leopard eats everything else.
