Ease of the Way

“Ease of the Way”: a girl running. Over water or over clouds, hard to say, since I removed the border between sky and sea.

Her hair is thrown back by the wind. The run holds no hurry, no goal, no chase and no doubt that running was worth it.

Only the pleasure of legs that work.

People lose that state early. We came into the world exactly like this, weighing no step, checking with nobody, never asking whether we had the right to move at all.

Ease of the way points inward. You can switch it on yourself, any moment, as soon as you stop complicating the road.

The silver in the framing is cold and it holds that blurred border well: the frame is sharp, the image is not.

Where is she running to? I did not paint that. There is no there.

Buyers take it for a nursery or a bedroom.
