Languor

An abstraction where the familiar comes through quickly: a horizon, sky, the soft movement of waves. No straight landscape, a sense of the world built from light and air.

“Languor”, 120 × 90 cm, mixed media.

The palette is pink and peach, warm, close to skin. Evening light in a house, sunset on an arm. Shades like that do more than look pleasant, they physically slow you down.

Stand a while and silhouettes of birds come out in the sky. I never declared them; they read right on the edge.

The work balances between abstraction and landscape, between movement and stillness, and commits to neither.

It does not overload a room. It tunes one, which is a different job.

This is about home as a state. The place where being strong is unnecessary.

That state takes no effort. You do not enter it, it is already waiting, and you only have to stop doing something else.

Nobody peers into a painting like this. You breathe out into it, ideally from a bed or a reading chair.
