“MetaGenesis” is assembled from fragments of recycled plastic. Every piece was something else once, then rubbish, and now it is on a wall.

Size 100 × 80 cm. No canvas in it anywhere: the plastic is the surface, in large dense volume, black and white throughout.

The form does not read at once. Some see a burnt forest, some an island cut by a river, some stand there a minute and say honestly that they see nothing.

A few see a spring, and usually keep quiet about it.

The work is about the frequency of pleasure. About agreement with your own life, which arrives before words and before any verdict on beautiful or ugly.

Look at it from the side and from below: three-dimensional decoration gives a different form at every angle, and the island seen from the door is another story at half a metre.

A material that has already lived one life has a different texture. That is why I took it.

Give it a living room or a studio, where people walk up close.
