Awakening

Two children on the shore, searching for something in the sand. “Awakening”, 100 × 90 cm, mixed technique, glossy in parts.

The space is light, nearly woven out of air. Texture and gold inclusions give it a pulse.

The children peer around and dig. Exactly like adults looking for answers on the outside, missing the fact that they already carry everything.

The awakening is not to something new. To what was always there.

Gold here is knowledge that needs no proof. Light is the guide, and the search itself is a game.

The work is quiet. I left no loud patch anywhere on it.

Those two children are the soul in its first condition, before experience and before conclusions.

The road from feeling short to feeling full is a short one. The trouble is that you cannot see it while you are squatting and digging.

Hang it in a nursery, or in a kitchen where the morning light comes in.
