Standing close is impossible, you have to step back. That is built into the size.
Snow on the mountain tops. A light sky. Nothing else.
I pressed rock into the texture so the surface would be genuinely uneven. The road is uneven, let the painting be the same.
Snow on the summits is the goal you can already see and still have far to walk to.
Everything you have been through is inside you by the time you take the first step, and I tried to keep that in the texture: stones, rock, the past compressed into one layer.
What do you feel before a beginning? Usually silence. The kind decisions get made out of.
What happens next, the painting does not say.
Large wall art needs a large place: a hall, a stairwell, one long living-room wall.
